Discover Leiden from the water

With a total of 28 kilometers of canals, the historic city center of Leiden has the most water flowing within its gates of any city in the Netherlands, second only to Amsterdam. With 89 bridges needed to cross all that water, you can imagine that Leiden is best discovered from the water!

We would love to give you a guided tour of the city on a SUP. From the water, this historic city looks completely different, and you might discover new interesting spots! The tour takes you past many museums, courtyards, parks, and historic buildings with stately facades. We also pass by lovely restaurants and terraces along the canals. Leiden is also an excellent starting point for day trips to nearby areas like De Kaag or Katwijk.

Singelpark Route

Since 2013, Leiden has been developing a long and exciting city park: the Singelpark! The Leiden canal structure is unique, offering various atmospheres and historical functions within one single park. The edges of the canals are being connected over their entire length to create a continuous green route.

This makes SUPing along this natural route a true joy! The local community is closely involved in the park's development, creating a vibrant and welcoming environment. This route is also very suitable for larger groups!

The Kagerplassen (De Kaag)

The Kagerplassen are a series of interconnected peat lakes in the north of South Holland, surrounded by an extensive network of small reed-lined ditches and canals. It is a stunning maze of waterways and islands.

We can organize beautiful Nature SUP tours starting from various locations on the lakes, with different lengths for different levels. During a Nature SUP, you will find complete peace at your own pace while staying active. Note: Only suitable for small groups!

Bulb Flower Route (Seasonal)
